Dance performances of the Folklore Society Leigarid
Dance performances of the Folklore Society Leigarid take place on Saturdays and Sundays at 11 a.m. on Sassi-Jaani farm yard.
Accompanied by live music, a celebration which is different every time is born from the combination of traditional dances, songs, games and instrumental music. This year, “Leigarid” are hosting small-scale family gatherings rather than crowded village celebrations.

At Estonian Bread Day we take a look at how bread is made starting from threshing and grinding grain to the way to eat the bread. Other older Estonian dishes are also introduced. Tasty Estonian food and authentic handicraft can be bought from autumn fair.

Michaelmas
day marked the beginning of winter: the work in the fields was finished and the
cattle were driven to the cattle shed. Men went to stock up on the firewood,
women started with indoor handicrafts, and kids were brought back from the herd
to the school bench.
