Lithuanian National Culture Day at the Estonian Open Air Museum's Kolu tavern from 13-17. Handicraft workshops, folk food tasting, folk dances and music.

Shepherd`s Adventure Trail

Ants and his faithful friend Muri started herding again on 12 April! The adventure trail takes you through farmyards, woods and tests your dexterity. Allow at least two hours.

Every Little Step Counts

Family-oriented playful exhibition at the Kolga farm barn-shed is open every day from 10 am to 6 pm.

The Estonian Open Air Museum invites you explore homes from various regions of Estonia, which display several centuries of people’s daily lives and festive traditions.

New permanent exhibition ‘Every little step counts’!

Make sure to visit the new family-friendly permanent exhibition ‘Every little step counts’ at the Estonian Open Air Museum.

This exhibition intended for family exploration features games and activities through which children can learn what life on a farm was like in the old days and provokes discussion on whether we can learn something from our ancestors and what it could be.

In addition, here you can see the animals traditionally kept on Estonian farms.

Horse-drawn carriage rides in the museum

Horses Horton and Teele take visitors on a ride.

The horse stop is located opposite the Kolu Tavern and horse-drawn carriage rides are available daily from 11:00 AM to 3:45 PM.

Slow Art in the Museum

On April 5, the International Slow Art Day, the Estonian Open Air Museum will focus on the installation by artist Sirje Runge, Great Love / Beautiful Decay.

Estonian Blind Union Recognition: Act of the Year 2024.

The Estonian Open Air Museum received recognition from the Estonian Blind Union as the "Act of the Year 2024." We earned this for the descriptive translations of our farmstead complexes and tactile farmyard maps, which help visually impaired visitors gain a more comprehensive understanding of rural architecture and rural life.

The "Karjalapse moonakott" won first place in the Estonian Museum Souvenir of the Year Award competition.
