The exhibition "FLAX"

Flax is one of the most important crops. The exhibition discusses flax as a plant and its cultivation, providing an overview of Estonian flax cultivation from its heyday to its later decline. Various materials derived from flax and their usage possibilities are presented, along with the different stages of flax processing and the necessary tools. Visitors to the exhibition gain insight into the complexity and time-consuming nature of the manual work involved in flax processing. The environmental impact of flax cultivation is also addressed, and guidance is provided on caring for items made from linen fabric.

The exhibition "FLAX" is open at the Pulga farmstead in the Estonian Open Air Museum from May 17th to September 29th, 2024.
