Lithuanian Culture Day in Tallinn 2025
The "Lithuanian Day in Tallinn" at the Estonian Open Air Museum has become a traditional spring cultural celebration that showcases Lithuanian national heritage — crafts, food, music, and dance. Visitors can enjoy hands-on workshops, live music, the baking of the traditional šakotis cake, and a wide variety of Lithuanian cuisine.
The event takes place on Saturday, May 10th, from 1 PM to 5 PM at the Kolu Inn of the Estonian Open Air Museum.
PROGRAM
13:00–13:30 – Opening
13:30–16:00 – Exhibition and workshops on traditional "verba" crafts and belt weaving
13:30–15:00 – Lithuanian food tasting – cold buffet
13:30–14:00 – Introduction to the Lithuanian folk instrument kanklės
14:00–14:30 – Lithuanian folk dances performed by the youth dance group Saulė
14:30–16:00 – Lithuanian food tasting – hot dishes (kibinai, cepelinai), as well as tasting of kvass and beer
16:00–16:30 – Tasting of the traditional Lithuanian cake šakotis
17:00 – End of the event
Lithuanian Day in Tallinn is organized by the Embassy of Lithuania in Estonia, the Lithuanian Folk Artists’ Union, and the Lithuanian Community in Estonia.
