Farmers' tools

Year-round museum lesson

The farm family did all the work with their own hands - taking care to have full bellies and covered bodies. How was laundry washed without a washing machine, and how did they straighten clothes without an iron? Where did they get tools in the old times? What are a "lüpsik" (milking stool), "koot" (loom), and "pütt" (pot)? Let's explore and try out both men's and women's tasks in different farmsteads. Does your great-grandmother still have such tools at home? Come and learn and try it out!

Connection with subjects: handicraft and home economics, crafts, history.
